RELIANCE INDUSTRIES LAUNCHING NEW PROJECT TO USE THE PLASTICS IN ROAD CONSTRUCTION
India's largest petchem player Reliance Reliance industries Launching a project to use the plastics in road construction. India, which uses about 14 million tones of plastic annually, lacks an organized system for management of plastic waste, leading to widespread littering.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is urging India to end consumption of single-use plastic by 2022.
But the Indian Government just focuses on the reduction of the pollution not the plastic said by Mukesh Ambani(the owner of the Reliance Industry). The company will seek to work with India's highway authority and individual states to potentially supply a platic-infused mix to make some of thousand of kilometers of roads Modi wants to build to upgrade INDIA's creaking infrastructure.
The plastic bags and other things used by us are not recycled and are dumped in the seas and oceans. So that's why they choose to use that plastic for the construction of the roads by the mixture of the plastic and the bitumen.
